# Check the people behind the payment page.

Suppose a website looks polished. Before paying, you want to connect the treatment offer to actual names and public records.

## Consider the care setting, then check the person

Care might begin at a clinic or online. Before paying, get the complete name of whoever would assess your health.

For remote care, the patient’s location determines which state must authorize the physician, under the framework checked September 2026.

To check a doctor’s licence status and any board action against them, use the public information from their state medical board. The published detail varies by state.

- Who would prescribe my medicine, what is their complete name, and which type of licence do they hold?

- Which board holds that person’s record?

- What pharmacy would supply this medicine?

- Can I check the pharmacy details before I pay?

## Know the limit of the check

A clear public record means no disciplinary action by the medical board is shown, such as a penalty or licence restriction. It does not prove nobody complained or tell you how good the care is.

Under the September 2026 federal rule, putting a business or drug on a registration list does not give the drug FDA approval.

Use the records to check names and licences. Ask the person treating you to explain how the proposed treatment would meet your needs.

## Keep this thought

The care service, person prescribing and pharmacy may have different names. Ask for each one plainly.
